High Point, NC – In preparation of the arrival of Hurricane Dorian to North Carolina, the High Point Rockers have adjusted their midweek series with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Thursday, September 5th’s game has been cancelled and will now be played as a doubleheader on Wednesday, September 4th with Game One starting at 5:00pm at BB&T Point.
“The safety of our fans, staff, and players is of the utmost importance every single day,” said Christian Heimall, Assistant General Manager of the Rockers. “Although the path of Dorian is not 100% conclusive, we felt it was in the best interest of both our team and the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs to allow each the opportunity to travel north early and avoid any potential issues. In the same breadth, we want to ensure our fans and our staff have the ability to make any necessary preparations for when the storm arrives.”
Wednesday, September 4th will now feature a pair of seven-inning games with Game One starting at 5:00pm and Game Two beginning approximately 30 minutes after the completion of Game One. Gates will open at 4:00pm as part of the Rockers “90’s Night” promotion. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free frisbee, courtesy of Mayberry’s Ice Cream. It will also be a special $1 Beer Night and will include wine tasting from American Premium Beverage.
Due to the cancellation, any and all tickets for the September 5th game are now eligible as ticket vouchers for any Rockers home game from now until September 5th, 2020, including 2019 playoff games.
