High Point, NC - The High Point Rockers won in walkoff fashion in the bottom of the 10th inning against the Somerset Patriots, 4-3, on a hot July evening at BB&T Point Stadium on Friday.
Somerset grabbed the lead first in the top of the 2nd inning with a solo home run by catcher Mike Olhman. The Patriots continued their lead into the 4th inning with another solo home run by designated hitter, Jimmy Paredes.
High Point got on board with a single into right field by Shaffer, scoring the Rockers’ designated hitter, Tyler Ladendorf.
The game continued with a single line-drive to right by Ladendorf in the 6th inning and a solo home run by center fielder, Myles Schroder, making it his 7th of the season.
In the 8th inning, Somerset came back to tie the game by an RBI single by shortstop, Alfredo Rodriguez.
The hero of the night was right fielder, Breland Almadova, with a single into right field, sending Schroder home for the game-winner. Right-hander, Ryan Kelly, earns his first win of the season for the Rockers.
