High Point looks ahead to road series against York

High Point, NC- Sunday’s rubber match against the Long Island Ducks saw the Rockers fighting to win the series after tying the series on Saturday. The Rockers were down 3-1 in the top of the eighth inning when Viosergy Rosa would hit a grand slam to give the Rockers a 5-3 lead and eventually the win.

In the top of the second inning, Brett Austin would hit a single on a line drive to right field, bringing in Rosa for the first run of the game. Vladimir Frias would hit a double on a line drive to right field, bringing in Rando Moreno to even things up. Ray Fuentes and Daniel Fields would bring in the final two runs for the Ducks.

As the top of the eighth inning would come, the bases would be loaded for the Rockers. Viosergy Rosa would be called upon to be the clean-up man for the Rockers. Rosa would knock one out of the park, giving Rosa a grand slam that would give the Rockers a 5-3 lead that the Ducks couldn’t overcome. 

Chase Hitching would be given the win while his teammate Trevor Frank would get his tenth save of the season. The Rockers return home June 14th-16th to play the Ducks during Father’s Day weekend. Call 336-888-1000 and ask about our Father’s Day Four Pack offer.
