Waldorf, MD - The High Point Rockers continued their dominating ways Tuesday night as they scored 14 runs in what was the longest game of the season so far. The Rockers would take a 14-5 win and would extend their series lead to 2-0.
Tyler Ladendorf wasted no time giving the Blue Crabs headaches, hitting a home run as the first batter up for the entire game. Brett Austin would hit a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning, giving the Rockers a 4-0 lead. Cory Vaughn would answer with a homer of his own to put two on the board for the Blue Crabs. Dante Bichette Jr. would hit a double which would bring in Myles Schroder and Viosergey Rosa.
With the Rockers up 6-2, things didn’t get any better for the Blue Crabs as they would allow eight runs in the top of the eighth inning. With the Rockers up 14-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Vaughn would hit his second home run of the night, closing the gap to 14-5.
The Rockers would get their second straight win and will enter game three against the Blue Crabs with a lot of momentum. Stephen Johnson would be credited with his third win, while Daryl Thompson would record his third loss.
