High Point, NC - The High Point Rocker’s take game three from the Long Island Ducks 5- 2 on their way to the series win. After a late home run at the hands of Rockers Catcher Brett Austin, High Point sealed the win and took their division lead.
The Rockers started things off in the bottom of the first inning when Hector Gomez hit a hard line drive off the left field wall to score Tyler Ladendorf. The Rockers extended their lead in the second where Giovanny Alfonzo hit a sacrifice fly to center to bring in Myles Schroder.
The Ducks threatened a comeback in the top of the sixth inning when Steve Lombardozzi singled to bring in Rey Fuentes. The Rockers managed to limit the damage as Alfonzo, Gomez's and Schroder combined for a double play to end the inning.
Stephen Cardullo made a highlight reel play to electrify the fans at BB&T Point as he slid to catch a dying fly ball to end the inning.
The Ducks tied the game in the eighth as Steve Lombardozzi and Kirk Nieuwenhies collected back to back doubles. But It wasn't enough as the Rockers answered three more runs spotlighted by a home run off the scoreboard by Brett Austin.

The Rockers will hit the road for a three game series against The New Britain Bees and a four game series against The South Maryland Bluecrabs. The Rockers will return to BB&T Point May 31 for the start of a 7 game homestand.
