High Point, NC - The High Point Rockers continue their winning streak at BB&T Point stadium, crushing the Long Island Ducks 11-0. The win brings the Rockers to the top of the Liberty Division and extends their win streak to seven games. Stephen Cardullo was red hot for the Rockers, scoring four of the eleven runs.
In the bottom of the second inning. Cardullo hit a fly ball to left field for the first home run of the night. In the fourth inning with Cardullo on second and Dante Bichette Jr. on first, “King” Quincy Latimore hit a line drive to left field allowing Cardullo to score run number two for the Rockers. The stadium erupted with applause during the bottom of the sixth inning where the Rockers scored three more runs. Myles Schroder hit a routine fly to center field that all three outfielders failed to catch, bringing Bichette Jr. and Latimore home making the score to 5-0.
The bottom of the eighth inning sealed the win for the Rockers with six more runs added to the board. With no outs, Cardullo on second and Bichette Jr. on first, Latimore was walked by Ducks pitcher Brett Marshall. A wild pitch from Marshall brought Cardullo home and Bichette to third. With bases loaded, Giovanny Alfonzo hit a line drive to right field allowing Bichette Jr. to score bringing the score to 8-0. Latimore would then score on a walk from Marshall to Tyler Ladendorf. The inning ended with an RBI double by Breland Almadova finalizing the score at 11-0.
