The High Point Rockers welcome former Colorado Rockies First Basemen/Outfielder, Stephen Cardullo. Originally drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 24th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft, Cardullo found himself in the Colorado mountains for the 2016 season. Cardullo spent two seasons with the Rockies before ending up with their Triple-A Affiliate, the Albuquerque Isotopes. Throughout his career in the MLB, Cardullo recorded 16 hits, 2 home runs and had a .190 batting average.
Former Major League Baseball Pitcher, Paul Clemens, has officially joined the High Point Rockers roster for the 2019 season. Clemens started his MLB career with the Houston Astros in 2013, exceeding rookie limits. From there, Clemens spent another season with the Astros before bouncing around teams such as the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres in 2016. Throughout his pitching career in the MLB, Clemens has 8 wins and 13 losses with a 4.89 ERA. Clemens is no stranger to the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, previously playing for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
Tyler Ladendorf joins the Rockers for their inaugural season in 2019. Ladendorf is a former Major League Baseball Second Basemen/Outfielder for the Oakland Athletics. Ladendorf was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the 2006 Amateur Draft. Ladendorf made his MLB debut in 2015 for the Athletics, playing until 2016. Ladendorf last played for the Triple-A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Reno Aces.
Seth Maness returns home to North Carolina to play for the High Point Rockers. Maness was born in Pinehurst, NC and played for East Carolina University. Maness is a former Major League Baseball Pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals. In 2013, Maness found himself playing in the World Series for the Cardinals. Maness recorded 18 wins, 10 losses and had a 3.21 ERA during his time spent in the MLB. Maness last played for Triple-A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, the Omaha Storm Chasers.
The High Point Rockers add another Pitcher to their stacked roster for the 2019 season. Akeel Morris is a former Pitcher for the New York Mets, Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Angels. Drafted in the 10th round of the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft by the Mets, Morris would make his professional debut five years later for the Mets. Morris last played for the Triple-A Affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, the Salt Lake City Bees.
Signed out of the Dominican Republic as a 16-year-old, Hector Gomez is one of the many former Major League players to join the Rockers. He made his big league debut in 2011 with the Colorado Rockies before getting back to "the Show" with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2014 and 2015.
The High Point Rockers add a left handed Pitcher to their arsenal. Ashur Tolliver pitched for the Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros throughout his career. Tolliver was drafted by the Orioles in the 5th round of the 2005 MLB Amateur Draft. Shaffer made his MLB debut in 2016 for the Orioles and was a member of the Astros organization during their World Series victory in 2017. Tolliver is no stranger to the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, last playing for the Long Island Ducks.
The High Point Rockers sign another familiar face to the Carolina's, Richie Shaffer. Shaffer graduated from Providence High School in Charlotte and proceeded to play for Clemson University in South Carolina. Shaffer was drafted in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. Shaffer went on to make his professional debut in 2015 for the Rays. Shaffer recorded 26 hits, 5 home runs and had a .213 batting average.
The High Point Rockers welcome Breland Almadova to the organization . Almadova has played for the Visalia Rawhide, the Class-A Advanced team of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Throughout his career, Almadova has had 406 runs, 637 hits, 27 home runs and a .265 batting average.
Giovanny Alfonzo is no stranger to the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, previously playing for the Long Island Ducks. Alfonzo played for the Columbia Fireflies, an affiliate of the New York Mets. Throughout his career, Alfonzo recorded 94 runs, 262 hits, 8 home runs and has a .227 batting average.
The High Point Rockers are excited to announced that Dante Bichette Jr. will be joining our roster for the 2019 season. Bichette's father is a 4x MLB All-Star and a Silver Slugger winner. Bichette was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft. Bichette played for the Trenton Thunder, a Double-A Affiliate of the Yankees.
Brett Austin joins fellow Providence High School graduate Richie Shaffer on the High Point Rockers roster. Austin, a Matthews, NC native, played for the NC State Wolfpack, being drafted in the 4th round of the 2014 MLB Amateur Draft by the Chicago White Sox. Austin last played for the Charlotte Knights, a Triple-A Affiliate of the White Sox.
The High Point Rockers welcome Kyle Halbohn to their roster. Halbohn is a graduate of Belmont Abbey College/Kansas State University. Halbohn was a member of the Inland Empire 66ers, a Double-A Affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels.
Trevor Frank finds his way onto the High Point Rockers roster for their inaugural season. Frank was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 8th round 2013 MLB Amateur Draft. Frank played for the Triple-A Affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
Pitcher Chase Huchingson joins the Rockers this season looking to make an impact. Huchingson has played 7 seasons in the minor leagues, racking up 25 wins,16 losses and a 3.31 ERA. Huchingson reached the Triple-A Affiliate of the New York Mets, the Las Vegas 51's.
Matt Sergey played North Carolina's own Campbell University throughout his college career. In 2007, Sergey was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the MLB Amateur Draft. Sergey comes to the Rockers from the 2018 Atlantic League Champion Sugar Land Skeeters.
Kalian Sams comes to the Rockers with veteran experience. Playing 14 seasons in his career, Sams has played all over the world. In his 14 seasons, he has 474 runs, 739 hits and 167 home runs. Sams previously played for the Triple-A Affiliate of the San Diego Padres, the Tuscon Padres.
Myles Schroder comes to us from the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A Affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. While attending Diablo Valley College, Schroder was drafted by the Giants in the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft. Throughout his career, Schroder has 273 runs, 567 hits, 39 home runs and a .258 batting average.
Winston-Salem's own Seth Simmons returns home to the Triad to play for the Rockers. While playing for East Carolina University, Simmons was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft. In 2018, Simmons played for the Triple-A Affiliate of the San Diego Padres, the El Paso Chihuahuas.
Joe Van Meter is no stranger to the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. Van Meter played with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in 2016 and the York Revolution last season. Van Meter is looking to make an impact on the Rockers solid pitching core.
